The National Nutrition Council radio program, Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon, was hailed as Most Development-oriented AM Program by the UPLB Gandingan Awards during the Gandingan 2020: The 14th UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Multi-media Awards that took place via online ceremony on 25 July 2020. Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon bested 11 radio programs.  This is the fourth time the program was recognized as Most Development-oriented program by Gandingan. Since 2015, Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon consistently received recognition from the prestigious award-giving body.


Airing for a decade now, Radyo Mo sa Nutrisyon, continues to tackle various issues on nutrition, health, nutritional management of various diseases, social protection, food security, poverty reduction, livelihood and other related developmental concerns. The radio program is aired every Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. over RMN-DZXL AM 558 kHz and in 6 provincial stations. The program is anchored by NNC’s Executive Director Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang and RMN-DZXL veteran broadcaster Rod Marcelino. The airing of the program is also hooked-up or replayed by several of NNC’s Nutriskwela Community Radio Stations. Aside from AM band, the program is also broadcast via different social media websites and live radio streaming applications including Facebook, Ustream, YouTube and Google app RMN TV.

Gandingan Awards is organized by the UPLB students from Development Communicators’ Society. The theme for this year’s awarding is “Midya: Kakampi ng Bayan Laban Para sa Katarungan”.
