(T-B) NNC's Women's Month Webinar Resource Speakers and NNC Central Office personnel
The National Nutrition Council (NNC) celebrates National Women’s Month this March to recognize the significant contribution of women in nation-building,. The theme "WE Make CHANGE Work for Women: Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran!" aims to inform and engage women as pioneers and beneficiaries of government programs and services to make “change” happen.
As part of the celebration, the NNC organized a Women’s Month webinar on 08 March 2022 featuring topics on gender-fair language and women achievers in nutrition. As the webinar was also streamed live over NNC’s Facebook page, partners including barangay nutrition scholars joined the NNC personnel in attendance.
In her message, NNC Executive Director Assistant Secretary Azucena M. Dayanghirang emphasized the vital role that women play in achieving the goal to end all forms of malnutrition. She added that, “When women are empowered, malnutrition is reduced. Women are also the nutrition movers and shakers as majority of nutrition workers are women.” Thus, the celebration of Women’s Month is an important reminder of the need to empower women to achieve long-lasting development.
The NNC also has a lineup of activities for the month-long celebration and all NNC personnel and nutrition partners are encouraged to participate and contribute to achieving the objectives and focus of this campaign.
