The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) facilitated the conduct of the localization of 3rd National Plan of Action for Children (NPAC) participated by eight regions – Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CaLaBaRZon, MiMaRoPa, Bicol Region and National Capital Region last 5-7 March 2018 at BSA Twin Towers, Mandaluyong City.
Participants for MiMaRoPa Region who attended the activity were representatives and members of Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) composed of Department of Health (DOH), National Nutrition Council (NNC), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), social welfare and development officers of Romblon, Marinduque, Palawan and Puerto Princesa City, non-governmental organizations such as Marinducare and RSCWC technical staff.
The activity consisted of a three-day planning workshop. The RSCWC team provided their technical expertise in harmonizing their respective office/agencies’ plans, programs, projects, and activities in line with the RPAC to ensure the rights of children are integrated and mainstreamed to the regional development planning.
During the closing program, Ms. Mary Mitzi Cajayon-Uy, Executive Director of CWC, thanked all the participants for their support in the development of RPAC for their respective regions.
The activity resulted in the formulation of the MiMaROPa RPAC 2018-2022. The RPAC formulated will be harmonized along NNC’s own plan, the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2019-2022 to ensure that both plans will secure the rights of children in MiMaRoPa, especially the right to food and proper nutrition.
