04092022 TK News in Marinduque for March


To address rate of stunting among 0 to 23 months old children through improved quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes and utilization of Early Childhood Care and Development – First 1000 Days (ECCD-F1K)-related services in the province of Marinduque, the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TKDSP) was introduced by the National Nutrition Council.

As implementation phase of Tutok Kainan approaches, all six (6) municipalities have received four (4) kinds of dry commodities from NNC Central Office, specifically Rice Mongo (RIMO) Blend, Rice Mongo (RIMO) Sesame Blend, Momsie, and Mingo Meals. These commodities shall be used for the whole first month of implementation up to succeeding weekends of the 2nd to 6th month of implementation.

Further, updating of masterlist of beneficiaries, orientation and signing of informed consent forms to Tutok Kainan beneficiaries, and validation of dry commodities received are still ongoing in preparation for the commencement of the program this April 2022.

Loyola conducted its first ever face-to-face Coordination Meeting for Tutok Kainan with the District Nutrition Program Coordinators (DNPCs), Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), Nutrition Focal Persons (NFPs), Provincial Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) staff, and representatives from Bahi Agriculture and Fisheries Association (BAFA), the partner Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) of Marinduque Province.
