IKSN Training Calapan 1

A five-day training on Idol Ko Si Nanay was conducted for nutrition staff and barangay nutrition scholars of Calapan City, a total of sixty-seven (67) participants attended and participated in the activity. Idol Ko Si Nanay Learning Sessions is part of the Early Childhood Care and Development in the First 1000 (ECCD F1K) Days Program, this aims to equip the participants with competency, knowledge, and skills to facilitate the conduct of nutrition education classes with the following key components:

  • Importance of First 1000 Days
  • Services involved in the First 1000 Days
  • Child’s Rights
  • Pregnancy Care
  • Breastfeeding key points
  • Complementary feeding principles
  • Early learning
  • Psychosocial stimulation
  • Child protection

The implementation of this activity at the barangay level will assist mothers and caregivers in making critical decisions to improve their children's nutritional health. The learning sessions will guide them in assessing if their current feeding and caring behaviors are effective and identifying other strategies and techniques, they can utilize to achieve desired behaviors and practices.
