NNC-MIMAROPA joined DSWD-MIMAROPA’s Program Implementation Review of their 2nd cycle of Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP-PIR). The said PIRs were participated by Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDO), Municipal Accountants, Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), and Day Care Workers (DCWs). The PIR served as a venue for each municipality to report the status, impact in term of changes in nutritional status of day care children, and good practices in their implementation of the supplementary feeding program.
NNC-MIMAROPA, on one hand, presented the current nutrition situation and updates in the MIMAROPA region based on the 2012 Operation Timbang (OPT) results, 2011 Updating of the National Nutrition Survey, and the Revised Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos.
DSWD-MIMAROPA also reported that there is an 8.1 % decreased in the Malnutrition Prevalence Rate (MPR) of day care children during their last year’s implementation, a very significant decreased attributable to the supplementary feeding program.
