The National Nutrition Council MIMAROPA held its first orientation meeting for the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Civil Society Network on 8 April 2022 via Zoom that was attended by Mr. Oscar E. Ricaflanca, Secretary General of Federation of Senior Citizen's Association of the Philippines (FSCAP) – Calapan City, Ms. Maria Milagros Quieng, Director of Palawan Aid International-Kabatangan View Schools, Inc. (PAI-KVS), Ms. Juvelyn V. Gumal-in, Executive Director of Pampamayanang Mangyan Ugnayan. Inc. (PMUI), Ms. Rowena V. Genetiano, Project Leader at PMUI, and Ms. Joanna J. Elideros-Cabangbang of Taw Kabui for a Child, Inc.

Presidential Decree No. 491 in 1974 declared that Nutrition Month shall be held every July to create greater awareness on the importance of nutrition among Filipinos. As mandated by such law, the National Nutrition Council shall coordinate and lead the nationwide campaign.

Good news to all nutrition stakeholders in MIMAROPA Region!
On 6 June 2022, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited the National Nutrition Council (NNC) MIMAROPA as a CPD Provider to the Nutrition and Dietetics profession.
As an accredited CPD Provider, all trainings, webinars, and conferences facilitated by NNC MIMAROPA may be recognized as CPD programs and corresponding CPD units can be earned by participants upon the determination of number of units to be granted by the CPD Council of Nutrition and Dietetics.
