The Provincial Government of Basilan under the leadership of Governor Jim Hataman Salliman participated during the conduct of the Provincial Nutrition Action Plan Development Workshop: Co-Creating our Preferred Reality for Nutrition and Food Security.

The three-day planning workshop formulation organized by ZFF in collaboration with NNC-BARMM aims to bring together the key stakeholders in the Province of Basilan and intends to support and strengthen capacity of the Provincial Nutrition Committee members and the stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive, responsive, evidence-based, and participatory Nutrition Action Plan for Basilan. 

Gov. Salliman expressed his gratitude to the National Nutrition Council – BARMM and Zuellig Family Foundation for facilitating the workshop, and highlighted in his message the call to action for the future of children in Basilan, everyone must start working with “COMMITMENT WITH SINCERITY” and incorporate other plans with nutrition, continue the advocacy to address the struggles on malnutrition particularly on stunting and wasting among children. Thus, there is a need to institutionalize the Provincial Nutrition Action Plan through integration in the Annual Investment Program.
