The Nutrition Cluster Team of BARMM through the National Nutrition Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Health-BARMM Nutrition Division conducts Nutrition Initial Needs Assessment and Rapid Nutrition Screening to affected vulnerable groups  in three (3)  Evacuation Centers in Cotabato City affected by typhoon Paeng, held on 21 October 2022. 

The team uses the MUAC tapes for nutrition screening of children 6-59 months old and pregnant women to determine their nutritional status. The pregnant and lactating women in the evacuation centers were given  counseling on nutrition, importance of exclusive breastfeeding and  complementary feeding while continuing breastfeeding. They are also advised to visit the health centers for prenatal check-ups.

CNAO Bailinang Candao-Abas assisted the team in their assessment and received the Breastfeeding Kits from MOH through Ms. Celia C. Sagaral, Chief of Nutrition Division.
