Child Rights Analysis Concerning the Situation of Children in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao BARMM

Workshop happen in Cotabato City 02 February 2023. The workshop aims to inform the work and planning of BARMM government ministries, UNICEF, and wider partners through a comprehensive overview of the degree to which core child rights are realized in BARMM, across the six child rights fields: 1. Survives and thrives; 2. Learns and acquires; 3. Safe and equitable access to water, sanitation and hygiene services; 4. Protection from violence; 5. An equitable chance in life; and lastly, 6. Civil and participation rights.

Presentation on 1. Child Rights and Deprivations – covering the key findings from the BARMM situational analysis across different fields, sub-dimensions, and indicators of child rights. 2. Bottleneck Analysis, Risks and Opportunities – an overview of the bottlenecks, risks and opportunities identified in the situational analysis of child rights in BARMM and their impact or potential impact on the realization of child rights. After each presentation, the participants were grouped and reviewed the key findings and provided comments, responses, and inputs.

Atty. Raissa H. Jajurie, Minister of Social Services and Development, and Ms. Melanie M. Indar, MPA, EnP, Director I, Planning and Policy Bureau of Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority were also present in the said workshop.

Further, NNC BARMM representatives namely NO III Hannah Farinah Lidasan and DMO II Xyndey Chrysanewor Campano participated in the said workshop and included factors affecting child rights through malnutrition.
