Nov27 ADS Idol ko WSProsperidad, Agusan del Sur- National Nutrition Council Caraga facilitated a training of trainers that involves developing competencies on facilitating conduct of mothers’ classes using the Idol ko si Nanay Facilitator’s Guide on the First 1000 days conducted on 24-26 November 2021 at Sarnimian Inland Resort Corp, Poblacion, Rosario, Agusan del Sur.

Participated in by twenty-five (25) nutrition advocates, the three (3) day training focuses on capacitating pool of trainers who in turn will lead in the roll-out of trainings in the selected barangays of the program in the Province of Agusan del Sur.

Using the Idol ko si Nanay Facilitator’s Guide on the First 1000 days, the attendees took their parts in participating the 25 sessions of the module focusing on the following sub topics; (1) Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in the First 1000 Days: Basic Concepts, Components, Legal Mandates and F1K Program; (2) Pre-pregnancy; (3) Pregnancy; (4) Post-partum; (5) Newborn; (6) Infant; (7) Young child; (8) Early child learning; (9) Child Protection and Child Rights; and (10) Closing and graduation activity.

In her message, Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO) Ms. Laniebelle T. Angchangco encouraged the participating municipalities to include in the 2022 work plan the conduct of the health and nutrition education sessions using the Idol ko si Nanay modules.

In turn, the Provincial Nutrition Office of Agusan del Sur will line up two municipalities for the roll-out implementation using the said modules.

NNC Caraga Officer-in-Charge, Dr. Nino Archie Labordo said that the training which is first in Caraga region will equip implementors with competencies relevant to the delivery of key interventions on health, nutrition, social services and early learning to help in the achievement of optimum growth and development of the child in the First 1,000 days program. #NASLabordo
