Tandag CBATF2021TANDAG City- In a meeting conducted on Thursday, 25 November 2021, the City Bantay Asin Task Force (CBATF) in Tandag with the City Health Office focal person and City Sanitary Inspector, Marilyn Quezon shared its plan for 2022 after being challenged by covid-19 pandemic.

The team in coordination with the City Nutrition Office of Tandag lined up activities in 2022 to include regular monitoring using the WYD machine for iodine testing, barangayan advocacy, forum on handling, storage and safety among retailers and store owners and distribution of iodized salt among households and other advocacy campaigns.

CBATF is Chaired by Tandag City Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel with the City Health Office, Ms. Marilyn Quezon, Sanitary Inspector as the Focal Person, and including representatives from the City Nutrition Office, Business Processing and Licensing Office, City Tourism Office, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Market Supervisor, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tandag City Hotel and Restaurant Association (TaCHARA), Department of Education Tandag City Division, City Police Station and the 21 Barangays of the City.

CNAO Reyveen John Geli assured that with the existing Executive Order, the task force will push for its better mobilization of activities in 2022.

The CBATF aims to ensure the sustainability of the implementation of the ASIN Law (RA 8172) and local ordinances and guarantee the iodization of all salt being sold or traded and utilized in the city. # NASLabordo
