Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur- Members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) and City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (C/MNAOs) of Agusan del Sur reorient on the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Protocol on April 27, 2022 at Agriculture’s Conference Hall, this province.

The discussion led by National Nutrition Council Caraga, Officer-in-Charge, Dr. Nino Archie S. Labordo focused on the dimensions, scoring and computation utilizing the MELLPI Pro tool.

The essential dimensions that will be identified and reviewed by the monitoring and evaluation team are the organizational and the worker component. Under the organizational component includes: presence of the vision and mission, adoption and implementation of nutrition policies and laws, status of governance and organizational structure, functionality of Local Nutrition Committee Management, implementation of nutrition intervention/ services, and the changes in the nutrition status in the Local Government Units (LGUs).

In the worker component, their performance in terms of planning, organizing, advocacy, coordination, resource generation, documentation, record keeping, monitoring and their evaluation skills are being evaluated.
The LGUs will be rated using the Likert-scale with qualitative descriptors. Performance is indicated by a higher numerical rating and the monitoring and evaluation team is encouraged to take note of the data source upon which the rating is based to provide justification of the rating. To further improve the understanding, OIC-RNPC Labordo navigated the participants through the MELLPI Pro tool and explained the criteria on how to get the highest possible score in each dimension.

With the passing criteria, performing LGUs and local nutrition workers will be recognized with the Green Banner Seal of Compliance for the LGU, Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (OBNS) and Outstanding Nutrition Focal Point for the nutrition action officers and program coordinators.  

The Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team scheduled the visit to the different municipalities of Agusan del Sur starting last week of May until the Month of August 2022.
