IQATo ensure that the Quality Management System operates effectively and efficiently, the National Nutrition Council VIII completed its 4th cycle of the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) on November 2-4, 2017. The IQA team is composed of the audit team leader Mr. Serapio D. Camarines, Jr., audit team members Ms. Marivic S. Samson and Ms. Maybelle T. Aspeli, all from NNC-Central Office.

The team had a thorough examination on the seven (7) core processes and three (3) support services of the agency. The following are the objectives of the audit: (1) determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the QMS documentation and implementation of the 7 Core Processes: Nutrition Policy Analysis, Nutrition Policy Formulation, Nutrition Planning, Nutrition Program Formulation, Public Information and Communication, Nutrition Surveillance, Monitoring, and Evaluation, & Nutrition Capacity Development; (2) determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the QMS documentation and implementation of the Support Services covering Records and Documentation Management, Procurement of Goods and Services, and Financial Resources Management; (4) determine areas for improvement; and (5) determine readiness of the NNC Regional Office No. VIII for external audit.

 

Dr. Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr., NNC’s Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, together with the rest of the staff, gave their gratitude to the IQA team for the successful result of the audit. Having received thirteen (13) commendable findings, forty-six (46) compliance (C), two (2) opportunity for improvement (OFI), and none for non-compliance (NC), NNC promised to continually improve their performances to achieve the best results.

The Internal Quality Audits are systematic and independent examination of the system to determine whether the planned activities are implemented effectively and are suitable to achieve the NNCs mission and vison. (NO1 NDR)
