Tacloban City vaccinationPALO, Leyte - The Tacloban City Health Office headed by Dr. Gloria Enriquez- Fabrigas is all set for the National Immunization Days for COVID 19 dubbed Bayanihan Bakunahan.

The campaign is the government's efforts to increase vaccination coverage to at least 70% which is the minimum acceptable herd immunity. Herd immunity is the proportion of the general population being protected either by getting the disease or through vaccination.

The vaccination campaign will run for 3 days starting today November 29 until December 1, 2021. It will target both 18 years old and above and those 12-17 years old adolescents without co-morbidity.

In Tacloban City, the campaign aims to vaccinate 12,800 per day for the 3-day run in all Tacloban City residents said Dr Fabrigas.

Earlier, Tacloban City strategized to reach more Taclobanons to be immunized by opening the Tacloban City Convention Center or Tacloban Astrodome, the city’s mega vaccination center and other key areas in the city.

It also employed mobile vaccination and house-to-house immunization particularly for senior citizens (SC) and persons with disabilities (PWD). Mayor Alfred Romualdez even goes out of his way to knock in every residents’ house to encourage qualified members to vaccinate themselves. #NPC-CPD
