PALO, Leyte – The National Nutrition Council Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator in Eastern Visayas paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Mildred P. Que of Dulag, Leyte.

The visit was to duscuss salient feature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NNC and LGU on the implementation of Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) Phases 3 and 5.

Phase 3 targets 6-23 months old children while Phase 5 targets nutritionally-at-risk pregnant (NAR) women in targeted TK sites across the country.

TK DSP is a flagship program of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) funded by the agency and other sources such as Congressional Funds. The program will be implemented by selected targeted LGUs.

This time RNPC Catalino P. Dotollo, Jr., gets a coaching and mentoring on how to formulate a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) no less than from an expert LCE Mayor Mildred.

Mayor Mildred is a lawyer-CPA by professions before elected as mayor of Dulag, Leyte. Her previous government works include that of a presidential consultant in charge on government contracts, drafting of MOU/MOA and similar works during the time of then President Noynoy Aquino.

Hence, before signing the MOU, the lady chief executive scrutinizes the content of the said document and institute revisions beneficial to both NNC and LGUs.

At the end of the dialogue, both compromised to make necessary revisions to improve the content of the document.

Meanwhile, RNPC Dotollo, had a short meeting via messenger with Nutrition Policy and Planning Division Officer-in-Charge Miss Ellen Ruth F. Abella. OIC Abella agreed to abide by the suggestions of Mayor Mildred. The revision should be mutually agreed and should be friendly to both. #RNPC-CPD
