TK OrientationPALO, Leyte - With the go signal to start the long-awaited feeding program for 6-23 months old children in Eastern Visayas, the National Nutrition Council Region 8 has conducted re-orientation on Tutok Kainan: Dietary Supplementation Program (TK-DSP).

The activity was initiated by the Provincial Nutrition Focal Points (PNFPs) in the region.

The re-orientation was attended online by the Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs) and other nutrition workers in the selected municipalities of four provinces targeted for the program. These includes North Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar and Leyte.

The re-orientation aims to put all arrangements including dry and wet feeding.

The said feeding program will start with dry commodities which was delivered months ago to various targeted LGUs. The dry feeding consists of Rice Mongo Blend (RMB) and Rice Mongo Blend with Sesame Seeds.

While the wet feeding commodities will be provided by the identified Agrarian Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) which would include raw vegetables, fish, meat, poultry and others. It will prepared by organized mothers and community volunteers and will be distributed to targeted malnourished children.

The TK-DSP is a flagship program of the National Nutrition Council aimed at improving the nutritional status of 6-23 months old that will reduce wasting and stunting prevalence in the country. #RNPC-CPD
